FOR SALE or Trade 1991 Swapped Gen 4 (2001 engine) MR2 Turbo.
For Motorhome.
150k miles on Chassis, about 36k total on the motor. 30k of which are from when it was in a Toyota Caldina in Japan.
I love the car but Life has a funny way of taking the things you love most.
I unexcpectiedly lost my Dad, coming up on two years ago now in November (11/11).
My Dad would want me to live my dreams and I'd liketo travel across America in a Motorhome.
This brings me to selling my baby. 8k OBO. Clean, Taken care of. Not a shit box.

"This car should be illegal." But don't get me wrong it is a blast to drive and owing one is awesome.
"The MR2 Turbo might be the most dangerous car ever because of its accessibility and tendency towards sudden lift-off oversteer, but I would buy one for the "Warning: Radio Will Not Work If Removed" sticker alone. Getting a second-gen MR2 crossed my mind every week when I lived in London. The UK is full of them and they really are dirt cheap. That might be a problem because driving a mid-engined car fast takes practice, and young drivers tend to be lacking that sort of experience. The good news is that like all Toyotas from the nineties, the SW20 is easily fixable from the parts bin after ending up in a ditch, and owning one gives the satisfaction of having a classic that drives well, looks great and could never happen again."
"It's the James Dean of cars."
"This is the most dangerous car ever made and it is also a perfect expression of The Human Condition. We want to know where "The Limit" lies and damn self-preservation. This is the most dangerous car, because it is cheap, accessible, and exists in great numbers. This is opposed to a Porsche 911SC which is more dangerous in a mechanical sense but is not as accessible as the MR2"
Jalopnik says "The way I see it, this car and its weight-shifting only helps getting rid of the less smart ones you didn't like that much anyway. It's called natural selection."
I couldn't Agree more. It takes real skill to drive this care to and past it's limits. You WILL spin the car around while learning it's limits. But once you do find those limits and push it to the limit the car will repay you with handling few modern cars can rival. It's called the poor mans Ferrari.
When I say it's big, It's BIG! I thought my Holset Hx35 was large.
This turbo Dwarfs it entirely, It has a 6" inlet and outlet! I'm told it comes off a tractor trailer truck.
Here's some pics, Enjoy!
This is the compression housing to a ct26, a stock celica alltrac or mr2 turbo.
Yep, It has a T6 inlet footprint and everything is V-band.
I ended up selling it to a friend who's going to put in on a 5.0 mustang and use nitrous to spool it.
You bet I'm going to post pics of that!
I can't believe I haven't posted this sooner, I forgot all about my Celica's dyno video.
Like the video says Mike Bruell & Myself made 330whp & 250wtq at 14.5lbs boost (1bar).
Here's a couple drive by videos for your enjoyment.
I know it doesn't look like I'm going fast but that last pass I hit 120mph easily.
In the 2nd pass you can hear the tires break free then 8,500rpm rev limiter.
Ok, and below just to show you guys the engine is now in the MR.
Heres a video of it RIGHT after I got it in the car, there was no exhaust, the timing was off and It hadn't been tuned. So yeah I know it sounded like shit in the video but it was just to show
people I completed the swap. Since then everything and more has been done to that engine.
Thats going to be my next post ;)

Not bad power.
This was a break in tune so we didn't turn the boost up, It was set to the wastegate spring, 1 bar.
Which is unfortunate because at 1 bar this turbo wasn't even in its efficiency range yet.
Around 22+ lbs is were this turbo comes alive and really puts down power.
Currently I'm building a 2.2L stroker 5SGTE, 8:1 compression ratio.
With this turbo in my MR2, Plan to run 30lbs of boost on pump gas daily, but thats another post.
Anyways, don't be afraid to leave me a comment.
Mike Bruell is a great tuner and is always up to the challenge of tuning vehicles.
If you would like us to tune your vehicle send me an email.Heres more pics of the celica.
I had my head all cleaned up and Port, Polished, Decked, Pressure & stress tested, Polished Combustion Chamber Domes.
All the work was done by my friend, He does great work. It should add more than like 40+ hp, Atleast thats what we're expecting. The intake ports are perfectly matched. They are nice and rough (to keep fuel from sticking to the sides. The casting marks are all gone which makes the air flow smoother. The head was decked, A nice flat surface to mate the block to. Polished combustion domes reduce the chances of having a hot spot, which leads to detonation. The exhaust ports were only slightly ported to keep exhaust velocity high, and they are mirror polished. Oh, the valves we lapped also. heres some pics:
Here It goes, Im going to list EVER part I've put into this car, Not to say hey look at all this!
It's to help people with their builds and show what I've done. Also I forget a lot, like what parts and brands I've used, this way I have an online reference.
I can't get over the fact that my car is almost as old as me haha, I'll be 24 in April and my MR2 is 19 right now haha. The shape and body lines are amazing. This is one car I plan to keep a lifetime. Some of you might know I've taken the engine out of my 97 Celica, which was taken from a 91 JDM Celica Alltrac. So it's made its rounds haha. Each time it get taken out I clean it up and Invest more into it. Im finished with it now and only plan on minor upgrades since most of the large stuff is done. Without boring you further, here are the specs & pictures.
