why is the night sky not bright?

The illustration below shows an infinite number of stars, so if we look out from earth there are stars everywhere in the universe.
Why then isn't the sky completely white? Wouldn't it make sense that all that light would light up all of space? What is absorbing the light?

This concept has been buzzing along the net for a while.
I thought it would never materialize but it did!
finally a decent sports car. They say it will be around 20k base model, but who knows. It was supposed to be a cheaper rwd/awd car that brings back the passion of driving and drifting. I hear Toyota worked with Subaru on the drivetrain which makes sense because Toyota own Fuji Heavy Industries which is the plant/company that produces Subaru's.
